“Turn the simple words, ‘Play like a champion’ into your daily prayer. In sports and in life, be a competitor and a peacemaker. Play as hard as you can and always remember to respect your competitors and thank them for making you a better competitor. Play fairly on the court and work for justice in our society and the world.”
-Fr. Theodore M. Hesburgh, C.S.C. President Emeritus of Notre Dame
Participation in athletics is an integral part of the educational process at St. Francis School.
Student athletes learn self-discipline, teamwork, commitment and sportsmanship through participation in sports, in addition to developing self-confidence, celebrating success and overcoming adversity. We believe that combining these attributes with core Catholic values and strong classroom requirements will result in well-rounded individuals that are better prepared for the next stage of their personal, educational, and Christian development.
We subscribe to the athletic philosophy
that we are competitors and peacemakers in sports and in life.
This philosophy emphasizes important lifelong lessons that transcend the playing field. We trust that God will give us
all the strength we will need to
be a champion every day.
